Carlene Leaper was recognized again for her outstanding dedication to serving individuals with disabilities at the 2013 TNCO Annual Awards for Excellence as TNCO’s Community Leader of the Year. TNCO, or Tennessee Community Organizations, is a professional organization for Home and Community Based Services Provider Agencies that support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across the state of Tennessee.
Part of the recommendation offered by an employee at The Arc describes Carlene’s overall mission: “…to eradicate the discrimination that individuals with disabilities often face in both their personal and professional lives.” The nominator shares, “I nominated Mrs. Leaper because even after celebrating her thirty-three year anniversary as a part of this non-profit organization, she is still reaching out her hand to the disadvantaged to bring them hope, encouragement, and motivation. In this way, she has been able to continue on The Arc Mid-South’s mission of ‘Empowering People with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities to Achieve Their Full Potential’”.
We are proud to be associated with such a leader and continue our support of her getting great things done!
